Wonderful Friday to you! I am excited to announce that SunRise is heading back to eastern Kentucky for a mission trip Monday June 5th – Saturday June 10th. This is for adults and for the youth of adults attending. We will be staying at Calvary Campus in Letcher, Ky but will have opportunities to serve in a handful of different places during the week. Some of the things we will be doing include - Construction/service projects in Whitesburg, Food distribution in Hazard, Food distribution in Hindman, Feed the Streets in Hazard, Blessing bags and prayers, Service projects on the campus of Calvary. God has blessed you to be a blessing to others.
In our pick verse for today, John expands on the commandment to love others like God has loved us. Perfect love for God transforms our relationship with Him and then transform us to love others. Because we are living in love, just as God is love, we are sure that on the day of judgment we will not be punished. John uses the phrase that as He is, so are we, as a way to complete our growing in the love of God. The likeness of Jesus exists in the fact that we have the holiness of Christ within us. This is an imparted, inwrought holiness that makes us into a facsimile of the Lord Jesus Christ. Such perfect love is available to everyone who accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
