Awesome Wednesday to you! I am excited for another installment of our SunRise Bible study – Journey Of A Lifetime. Tonight we will cover the book of Numbers from the Old Testament. In our pick verse today, John expands on yesterday’s verse to share what it means for us to fully abide in God. This mutually joined “abiding” is made effective in us by the power of the Holy Spirit. We can be assured that we belong to God because God Himself, in the person of the Holy Spirit, lives within us. The Spirit impresses upon us an inward awareness and assurance that God accepts us as His children. The tactics of the devil are to confuse our feeling secure in our relationship with God. Any doubt in trusting God that the devil can implant in our minds can easily be removed when we are reminded that the Holy Spirit is not only the source of our guidance but provides the power within us to resist the devil. All we have to do is ask, trust, and obey.
