Wednesday – January 25th – 1 John 4:2-3 -----
4:2) By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
3) and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

In our pick verses today, John sternly warns the readers of this letter that we are not only to test the words we hear but also be a reflection of the word of God in our lives. John states that those who are connected to God can, at just a glance, more easily recognize the work of Satan. Any idea, or concept, or suggestion is categorized as false if it denies or diminishes the deity, humanity, and/or saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Anything less than full and complete acceptance of, and obedience to, the divine-human Jesus is, by default following the Antichrist. John restates that anyone who denies Jesus is the antichrist. Our prayers should be directed on behalf of those who are wrestling with, or outright resisting the truth of God’s word, way, will, and when. As Christians we are called by God to share the truth and beauty of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
