Sunday – January 8th – 1 John 3:1 -----
3:1) Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT AIMS IN LIFE; THEY JUST NEVER GET AROUND TO PULLING THE TRIGGER.*
Happy Sunday to you! Our inspirational thought for today is a great way to finish our first week of 2023. Staying on track is important for us to achieve our goals, yet the most important thing (and sometimes the hardest thing) we can do is to start by taking the first step. If you worshipped with SunRise last week than you are in line for our perfect attendance award for this year. Keep the streak going today through in-building or online worship. For those who have made a goal of reading through the Bible in a year, we are already an quick week into this plan. I will add a couple of more days of the readings from the Daily Walk Bible for those still waiting on their books to arrive.
Monday -January 9th – Genesis 21-24,
Tuesday January 10th – Genesis 25-26,
Wednesday January 11th – Genesis 27-31
Thursday January 12th – Genesis 32-36
In our pick verse today, John opens the third chapter of this letter by introducing a new subject – believers are now children of God. John will take the next six verses to not only welcome believers into the family of God, but also quickly lay out the responsibilities associated with being a child of the most-high God. What a marvelous privilege for us to be welcomed into God’s family as a child. We know from our earthy examples that child typically become inheritors of their parents’ estate. While this may or may not happen depending on the human relationship between family members, without exception, as believers, we will always be counted among the inheritors of the Kingdom of Heaven. Our expression of thanksgiving comes in the form of obedience, generosity, and service in this life. How have you shown thankfulness to God this year?
Blessings
