Monday – November 28th – 2 Peter 2:14 ------
2:14) They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
A CHRISTIAN IS ONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE TO CONSULT A BANK BOOK TO SEE HOW WEALTHY HE OR SHE REALLY IS.*
Welcome to Monday and the 333rd day of 2033. Yes, as Monday begins, we are quickly marking off days on the calendar as we approach the end of this year. Our inspirational thought for today is a great Monday thought for us to consider. While our culture and society seem to focus on what we have and what we can get out of life, the mark of a follower of Jesus knows that their bank account in Heaven is filled to overflowing. Deposits into Heaven’s account are made as we reach out and serve others. How might you add to your heavenly accounts this week?
In our pick verse today, Peter continues to speak into the judgement false teachers will receive as their reward. Peter states that these deceivers of the faith look for opportunities to commit sexual sin and were always enticing those who were not fully established as followers of Jesus to follow them into sin. Peter goes on to say that in every area of their lives they always wanted more and more for themselves. The more they get from their follies, the less satisfied they were. One of the tactics of the devil is to make sin look appealing then when we fall to temptation the result is far from satisfying, which leaves the door open for Satan to offer up an even more appealing temptation. This cycle is how Satan moves us from a relationship with Jesus to a relationship against Jesus.
Blessings
