Thursday – September 16th – 1 Timothy 5:1-2     -----

5:1 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers,
2 older women as mothers, younger as sisters, with all purity.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOOD LEADERS TAKE MORE THAN THEIR SHARE OF BLAME AND LESS THAN THEIR SHARE OF CREDIT.*

Good Thursday to you! So, my friends, did you follow my encouragement yesterday to intentionally spend some time counting your blessings. What did you discover? What blessings surprised you? Did you find that you may have also been a blessing to others? I am convinced one of the greatest “needs” in life is to be loved and appreciated. Studies strongly suggest that we become a reflection of what others say about us. How then might you encourage someone today so that they will reflect the love, joy, peace, and grace of God?

In our pick verses today, Paul begins this new chapter by continuing to share with Timothy important leadership instructions. Every church is filled with a variety of people who come with different backgrounds, different life experiences, different understandings about life, and different personalities. All of these factors can both enrich the beauty of doing ministry together and, at the same time, can be the incubator for disagreements and dissensions. Paul is sharing his experiences and wisdom with Timothy for healthy interpersonal relationships. The Christian leader is called to hold others accountable to basic Christian theology and beliefs, but Paul advises Timothy that having only one style of interaction doesn’t fit every situation. When we approach each situation and each person involved with respect, deep Christian love, and a genuine concern for people we will lead as Christ leads us.

Blessings
