Wednesday – June 9th - 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20     -----

2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
20 For you are our glory and joy.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
ANXIETY NEVER STRENGTHENS YOU FOR TOMORROW; IT ONLY WEAKENS YOU FOR TODAY.*

Welcome to Wednesday! What a great day that the Lord has made for us to enjoy, to praise God, and to serve God with all of our being. How are you planning on spending your Wednesday of this week? When considering our inspirational thought for today, I am going to work really hard to allow the Holy Spirit to help me set aside all my anxieties and to focus on the joy of the Lord in my life. The daily demands of life can be taxing enough without the added pressures we can create by living in our anxieties. My goal is to be strong today in all things for the Lord.

Today in our pick verses we close out the second chapter of 1 Thessalonians and Paul’s focus on the reality of suffering as a witness for Jesus. Paul weighs out the blessings of souls saved for the Kingdom of Heaven as well worth the momentary and temporary sufferings he faced to proclaim the gospel to those who needed to hear the salvation message of the Jesus. Paul equates this victory by the converts as receiving a crown – similar to the wreath worn by the winner of an athletic contest and used at other times of great celebration. Paul then draws the parallel to the return of Jesus as to the prestigious coming of a King in his day. New believers in Christ would be the reason for celebration as the population of the Kingdom of Heaven grows through Jesus’ victory over sin and death. Friends, we need to live more like a victorious people than downcast because of the struggles we face in life.

Blessings
