Saturday – April 10th – Colossians 1:9-11    -----

1:9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for Saturday:
      GET ON FIRE FOR GOD, AND PEOPLE WILL WATCH YOU BURN.*

     Happy Saturday to you! Today brings another exciting kick-off to a weekend filled with worship opportunities at SunRise. Both in-building and online options are available. We also have after service opportunities on zoom and in-building for fellowship and discussion. Check out times and locations at www.sunrisefamily.org/zoom or on your sunrise app. I am excited because we are taking baby steps back into worship at Delmar Villas. I am blessed to be able to share this week’s teaching with them on Sunday morning. We have been worshiping with our friends at the Landing since the beginning of the year.  While we are currently restricted in who can represent SunRise, we are hoping for a full return of our remote campus volunteer system sometime soon.

     Today Paul begins a new section in his first chapter to the believers in Colosse. We will spend the next few days unpacking Paul’s instructions to display a walk worthy of the Lord. Even though Paul did not personally know the Colossian believers, he made the commitment that he would not cease to pray that they would know how Jesus wanted them to live and act in their daily lives. He yearned for them to be filled with this knowledge of being filled with wisdom and spiritual understanding. This is a complete and personal knowledge revealed to us by the work of the Holy Spirit. The true knowledge of “God’s will” makes possible a life of holiness, a faith walk worthy of being a follower of Jesus, and be pleasing to God above all else. We can fully please God only as we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit. God’s glorious power can enable us to bear trials patiently and even endure them with a spiritual joy.

Blessings
