Thursday – April 8th – Colossians 1:5-6    ---

1:5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
6 which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
      THOUGH YOU MAY ASK GOD TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOU, HE GENERALLY WANTS TO DO SOMETHING IN YOU.*

     Happy Thursday to you! What a great inspirational thought we have for today. As I reflect over my prayer life, I must admit I am rather good at telling God what to do to fill my list of needs, wants, and desires. At the same time, I do not always allow God enough space, or time, to change me from the inside out. But when I have experienced those moments of transformation my list for God to fulfil has changed dramatically.

     Today in our pick verses we continue Paul’s expressions of thanksgiving for the faith of the Colossians. This rather long sentence covers a handful of verses and is Paul’s way of keeping a multi-point thought connected from start to finish. Like the Colossians, our hope of Heaven helps us to continue strong in our faith and in our love for others. It is Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection that secures this hope. Jesus’ victory over sin and death is, and will always be, the central truth of the gospel. Paul also knew that the hearing of God’s grace and really experience God’s grace are different. In Paul’s estimation the Colossians had heard, experienced, and now lived it out daily in their lives. What might Paul say about our experience of God’s grace in our lives?

Blessings
