Tuesday – March 23rd – Philippians 4:4   ---

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE NUMBER OF TIMES THE AVERAGE PERSON SAYS NO TO TEMPTATION IS ONCE WEAKLY.*

Welcome to Tuesday! The inspirational thought today required me to read and re-read it a few times for the message to sink in. Such a fitting and yet sad commentary on humanity’s ability to resist the temptations of the evil one. The algebraic equation is fairly simple - temptation when followed leads to sin which in turn separates us in our relationship with God. The causative agent (like how I mixed math and chemistry) in sin is our dissatisfaction with our current situation. Which is just the opposite instruction we receive from pick verse today.

Yes, our pick verse is one of those promised nuggets in chapter four of Paul’s letter to the Philippians. As a frame of reference, it is important to remember Paul is in prison in Rome as he pens this letter and especially this verse. Once again Paul exhorts Christians to practice rejoicing regardless of their situation. We can and should rejoice in the Lord even when circumstances are difficult because we know Jesus can bring us through with an ultimate victory. Rejoicing is the believers “go-to” lifestyle on display for all to see. What might be happening today that you can be an example of rejoicing in the Lord to others?

Blessings
